Perez Cruz's Limited Edition Cot (Malbec).
Better known as Malbec, Perez Cruz believe that they carve out a singular reputation for the quality of this varietal in Chile. Opaque, deep ruby purple colour, with notes of violets and mint on the nose. Dry, medium to full bodied, fat, but balanced and defined. Nice weight of fruit, with crisp acidity and a touch of firm tannin providing structure. A lovely food wine with a long savoury finish.
A no expense spared, premium red wine producer whose first vintage, in 2002, stamped its ambition to make Chiles very best reds. The Syrah took the James Rodgers Trophy for best wine in its first year of production and the Shiraz trophy for best Syrah of the competition in the International Wine Challenge 2003. The vineyards are situated just south of Santiago in the Maipo Valley and consultant winemaker is the renowned Alvaro Espinoza. In April 2005, at the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles Show, they presented three wines from the 2003 vintage and all three won medals.
