Rhone Wines
The Rhone Valley is split really into two sections. The northern section producing the great wines of Hermitage & Cote Rotie whilst the southern half producing the spectrum that ranges from the humble Cote du Rhone all the way to the lofty heights of Chateauneuf du Pape, with some Gigondas, Vacquers etc etc thrown in along the way.
Mostly the grapes grown are Syrah, Grenache, Mourvedre with the wines of the north mostly using Syrah. On the odd occassion you can also find some wonderful single varietal Viognier and some superb elegant white Chateauneuf du Pape.
