A superb award winning sparkling wine from Lewes in East Sussex. Yeast, depth, great bubbles and flavour, as far as sparkling wine goes, it doesn\'t get any better! The chosen wine of the G8 summit at Gleneagles recently. A family run estate and small production.
Reviews: The Observer (June 11th 2006) \'Britain\'s grape expectations\' by Dinah Hatch: \"Breaky Bottom\'s sparkling wine, Kir Royale and Cassis have developed a loyal following since Peter [Hall] started cultivating in 1974...After chatting with this charismatic gent for half an hour I reckon that success owes as much to his personality as to his pop. Ready to Drink?: Yes, but will mature like a Champagne does. However, in our opinion it is best drunk now and/or over the next year.
Food and Wine Matches: Oysters for sure, serve as an aperatif or with a curry is superb! Don\'t be afraid to experiment with sparkling wine as it is very versatile in what it can take, food wise.
