English fruit wines are an ancient tradition. Despite our dwindling orchards we are still rich in fruit growing and fruit wine making. Fruit wine, it is said, was being drunk here long before grape based wine. No longer a faddish drink, fruit wine is being consumed by more and more people. Fruit wines are a super alternative to high alcohol grape based wines plus they can accompany food as well any other drink. All the English fruit wines that we list are from the Carr Taylor winery based in East Sussex. Set in stunning countryside close to the historic town of Battle. All the fruit is sourced locally if not from the estate itself and the use sprays and chemicals is almost zero. Whilst the estate can not declare that it produces fruit wines wholly organically they can state that no artificial colour, additives, preservatives or flavourings are ever added. We hope you enjoy them as much as we do, the fruit wines from the Lurgashall Winery are great English wines!
