The selected fruit from low yield vines is vinified as individual varieties and aged in French oak, as it develops different barrels will progress at different rates as well as be influenced by the subtle differences of each barrel. The finest of these barrels are selected and will qualify as the 'Years Barrel Selection' and it is these that will be used for the 'YBS' range. After 16months, they are then blended, percentages will vary each year depending on the power and intensity of each variety. The Malbec contributes depth of colour, red fruit flavours and soft tannins, the Cabernet gives it black fruit, structure, complexity, aromas of cassis and eucalyptus and finally the syrah brings spice, depth of flavour and balanced acidity. Put all this together and is it any surprise that this was the wine that won GOLD in the first Argentina Wine Awards Competition.
